Is Spravato® Right for Me?
If you’ve tried therapy, lifestyle changes, and at least two antidepressants yet seen little improvement, Spravato® offers a different approach to depression relief by working through an alternate pathway in the brain.
Clinical studies show that while some patients experience improvement in depressive symptoms as early as 24 hours after the first treatment, others improve over a period of weeks. Like all medications, responses vary.
You may be a candidate for Spravato® if you:
- Have been diagnosed with TRD or MDD with suicidal thoughts or behaviors
- Have tried at least two antidepressants without sufficient improvement

What to Expect During Treatment
Every Spravato® treatment takes place in our office under the supervision of our clinical team, as required by the FDA’s Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) safety program. You’ll self-administer the nasal spray while we guide you through the process, then relax comfortably for at least two hours while we monitor your response before you go home.
Possible side effects include:
- Sleepiness (sedation)
- Dizziness
- Feeling dissociated, or “floaty”
- Nausea
- Headache
- Temporary increase in blood pressure
- Anxiety
These effects can be mild to moderate, and most often improve before you leave the office. Patients should not drive or operate machinery on the day of a treatment.

Step 1: Consultation
We will evaluate your symptoms and treatment history to determine if Spravato® is right for you.
Step 2: Enrollment & Scheduling
We will verify your insurance benefits, out-of-pocket expenses, and develop a treatment schedule.
Many commercial insurance plans, plus Medicare and Medicaid, may cover Spravato® in certain settings. At this time, Clear View Mentality does not participate with Medicaid or Medicare plans.
Spravato® is only available through a restricted Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program. Patients must receive treatment at Clear View Mentality, where our team can monitor your vitals and side effects.
Step 3: Treatment
You will receive treatment twice weekly for the first four weeks. Every Spravato® treatment will take place in our office under the supervision of our clinical team. You will self-administer the nasal spray while we guide you through the process, then relax comfortably for at least two hours while we monitor your response before you go home.
Step 4: Maintenance
We will track your progress and adjust your plan as needed, including reducing treatments to one per week.
