Felicia is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a board-certified psychiatric nurse. Her experience includes providing psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is passionate about helping people care for their mental health needs. She listens to her patients and encourages their participation in developing a treatment plan.
Her professional background is extensive beyond healthcare. She has worked as an industrial engineer, math educator, and nurse. She worked for a few years as an engineer but discovered she was unfulfilled. She decided to change direction and taught math to middle/high school students while pursuing her nursing career. She has worked in many nursing specialties, including NICU, PICU, adult telemetry, medical/surgical, corrections, and behavioral health. While working in various specialties, she discovered she was most interested in mental wellness.
Felicia gained over eighteen years of nursing experience working with diverse populations from different walks of life. Her mental health experience and interests include depression, anxiety, ADHD, various mood dysregulation disorders, OCD, sleep disorders, and recovery from trauma.
She believes in total wellness using traditional evidence-based practice strategies, medications, therapy, nutrition, exercise, spiritual health, vitamins, and supplements. Her mission is to help individuals gradually grow and develop their mental health with courage, grace, and determination.
Felicia is a proud, active member of a multicultural, nondenominational church. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and twins, reading, shopping, traveling, playing sports, attending concerts, and visiting museums and art galleries.
